There’s no section of the automotive market that’s more popular in America than crossovers and sport utilities. Every company continues to produce new models to try to fill the demand for these versatile vehicles.

If there’s one company which has embraced this market for years, it’s Jeep. Jeep has been the main outlet for sport utilities for Chrysler for decades. Their entry into the crossover market showed that Jeep was ready to play. Many of their vehicles are iconic. But they continue to evolve with the time. What is Jeep planning for 2019? Keep reading. All statistics are for the 2019 model year, unless not available, in which case 2018 was used

Jeep Cherokee

Specifications: $26,040+ - 23-31 mpg - 271 hp

Review: The Jeep Cherokee has been a landmark sport utility since its inception. For people looking at a great off roader, the Cherokee has the Trailhawk special edition. It’s specifically designed with additional ground clearance to let it drive anywhere reasonable. Unlike some other models, a navigation system is only an option, but it does have both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for those music fans.

Jeep Compass

Specifications: $22,590+ - 23-32 mpg - 180 hp

Review: The Compass fits perfectly into the small crossover market with a great price. It fits with other Jeep products as it’s fantastic off road. It doesn’t have the versatility to tow much though due to a weak transmission. Despite this, it’s still an excellent family vehicle and has wonderful modern features. The Compass is a great indication of the future direction of Jeep.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

Specifications: $32,390+ - 19-26 mpg - 295 hp

Review: The Grand Cherokee helped people realize that Sport Utilities could be luxurious modes of transportation in addition to off road behemoths. Before, they were merely trucks without truck beds. The Grand Cherokee continues to be an industry leader and comes in a huge number of varieties. The base Grand Cherokee is great, but the SRT and the Trackhawk versions are something special. Each features tuning and engines that are better found in sports and supercars. The trackhawk itself has a 707 horsepower engine, but you do pay for that, with the asking price over $87,000 to start.

Jeep Renegade

Specifications: $20,245+ - 24-29 mpg - 180 hp

Review: The Renegade is aimed at people looking for a cute city driver that isn’t going to take up too much space. On the plus side, it’s surprisingly powerful for since a tiny vehicle. Engine options run from 160 to 180 horsepower and are dependant on which transmission is chosen. Despite the tiny size, the Renegade also has a Trailhawk version which gets offroad in a hurry!

Jeep Wrangler

Specifications: $25,440+ - 17-25 mpg - 285 hp

Review: Many people think the Porsche 911 has barely changed its styling over the decades. But it has nothing on the Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler has continued to be updated, but they are instantly identified by anyone looking for one. The modern Wrangler features 2 and 4 door models, with the iconic soft top still an option for people looking for it. The AWD system is new to the current model Wrangler and breaks with tradition.

Jeep Wrangler Pickup Truck

Specifications: $30,000+ - mpg N/A - hp N/A

Review: While the exact details of the Wrangler Pickup are not readily available yet, the excitement over this pickup is high. Jeep hasn’t been part of the pickup truck market for a long time. Their return is expected to have V6, Diesel and Hybrid engine variants. There’s also going to be a soft top version for people who love the sun on their shoulders.

New Vs. Used

If buying a new 2019 Jeep isn’t something that interests someone, it’s possible to pick up used models. Many Jeeps (especially the Wrangler) are known for being strong and reliable vehicles. Jeep has produced many of their models like the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee for a long time, so it’s usually possible to find used versions to fit almost anyone’s budget.
